Fantasy Football Week XI

Super Freak of the Week: Lions WR Calvin Johnson
MEGATRON!! Sorry, but I have been holding that in all season! Calvin finally had the week owners have been waiting for all year! Johnson had a career high 12 receptions for 207 yards and 1 touchdown in a tough loss to Minnesota in Week 10. Megatron and Stafford hooked up for the first time this season on a 11 yard hard fought touchdown. We are proud to finally have Megatron in his rightful place as our Super Freak of the Week! Nick's Pick: Panthers WR Steve Smith We all know that WR Steve Smith has been somewhat of a disappointment for fantasy owners this year. This week should prove to be different. He is going up against a Tampa Bay pass defense that has allowed the 3rd most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers this season. Other than last week, Smith and Newton have sparked some of that mojo they had almost all of last season. Make sure Steve Smith is in your lineup this week. Bailey's Bench Em: Chargers QB Phillip Rivers Alright fantasy football comrades, this weeks Bench Em is Phillip Rivers. Rivers did put up good fantasy numbers last week, but that was against a horrible Tampa Bay pass D. Denver's D has been complimenting Peyton Manning & the Denver O terrifically this past Month or so & to be honest nobody wants to face the Denver D right now. So why feel confident playing Rivers against Denver this week? Denver has only allowed 16 pts/g at home this year, avgs 3 sacks/g & 1 int/g. Denver only allows 218 pass yds/g as well. This division road game for Rivers against a surging Denver team does not sit well with me & shouldn't sit well with owners either. I would be surprised if Rivers even reaches his fantasy point avg (depending on your league, around 16 pts) this week! Sy Su's Sleeper: St. Louis Rams QB Sam Bradford With the injuries to many top notch fantasy quarterbacks, like Ben Roethlisberger, Alex Smith, Jay Cutler, and Michael Vick, look at Sam Bradford to carry you through these painful times! The young Rams QB is coming off one of his best games of the season, finishing with 275 yards and 2 TDs (could've been more if Danny Amendola's 80-yard TD in overtime wasn't called back), against the second-best pass defense, the San Francisco 49ers. This week, he faces a New York Jets defense that hasn't intercepted a pass in a month. He also has some of his top weapons back, a healthy Danny Amendola and Chris Givens, back from team violations, in addition to his reliable and rejuvenated RB Steven Jackson. Asides from this week, Bradford has a pass-favorable schedule going into the fantasy playoffs with games in the final 3 weeks against Buffalo, Minnesota, and Tampa Bay.
