Fantasy Football Week X

Super Freak of the Week: Buccaneers RB Doug Martin Well we never thought it would happen, but it did. Our first ever back to back Super Freak of the Week goes to the Rookie sensation Buccaneers RB Doug Martin. All of you Martin owners out there have been doing "The Dougie" the past two weeks with these stellar performances. This week Doug went for 251 yards on 25 carries for 4 touchdowns and he added 4 receptions for 21 yards. The rookie had huge touchdown runs of 45,67 and 70 yards and ended the day with a 1 yard touchdown run. This was definitely a performance worthy of repeat honors! Sy Su's Sleeper: Raiders RB Marcel Reece With Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson exiting Week 9 early with ankle sprains, Marcel Reece's fill-in performance was as sweet as Reese's Pieces! The third-string RB had absolutely zero carries but managed to post up 15 fantasy points in standard ESPN leagues with his 8 catches, 95 yards and TD. With numbers like that, he's a MUST in PPR leagues. Run DMC and Goodson are both questionable so far, but expect Reece to be the primary back along the side of QB Carson Palmer. Reece will be a major benefactor of the Raiders' pass-happy offense (Palmer ranks 5th in the NFL in pass attempts) against a Ravens' defense that ranks in the lower tier of passing AND rushing defense. Reece has averaged 26 catches and 317 yards in the last two season and is on track to exceed it with 26 catches and 272 yards midway the 2012 season. Nick's Pick: Buffalo RB CJ Spiller Do we all remember those incredible two weeks C.J. Spiller had in the beginning of the season? Well folks I believe that Spiller is just about ready to break out again, and put up some superior fantasy numbers for the stretch run. Experts will tell you he is one of the best pure runners on film. His only problem is a guy named Fred Jackson who has taken away a substantial amount of carries from him...until now? Starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was quoted in saying they need to get the ball in Spiller's hands more. Head coach Chan Gailey has backed up Fitzpatrick's words and agrees that Spiller should and will begin to see more carries in his future, putting Jackson in more of a third down back role. He does has a tough matchup this week against New England, but these games in the past have proven to be high scoring. I think Spiller has a big week, and in weeks to come. Bailey's Bench Em: Panthers WR Steve Smith Week 10 is already here (sigh) & this week I am benching Steve Smith. Steve consistently produces, but at a mediocre level. Besides Cam Newton, he is the best offensive player on the Panthers, however that is also a problem for the Carolina O. And this week Carolina plays a tough Denver D, who is a top 10 pass D. Denver is playing at a high level in all aspects & Cam Newton has been struggling all year, so unless you have Smith in leagues with 3-4 WR spots or in PPR leagues don't start Steve Smith this Sunday.
